This guy has seriously become more of a clown than a basketball player and I’m kind of getting tired of his antics.  Yeah they were entertaining at first but now they’re just rundown and tiresome.     If he gave half as much effort to staying in condition as he does to being a jackass he could extend his career another 4 or 5 seasons.   He may play 4 or 5 more years but not at an all-star level. 

Since leaving LA Shaq has become nothing short of a gigantic assclown on and off the floor, that’s not to say he wasn’t an assclown before but now he seems to strive to be one where as before he just happened to be one; if that makes any sense to you.    The media loves him for this, and while it can be entertaining, if I wanted to watch drama on TNT I’d watch Law & Order or hell even Charmed at least than I get to see some boobies and not some gigantic flat manboobs like I get with Shaq.     I don’t really care about what he is doing either.  His twitter account seems to the topic of at least one segment a week on the radio, and I have to admit I have checked it out.  When I checked it out I thought for sure I would see a status of “eating for the 10th time today” or “playing with my lego’s”. 

As a player I liked Shaquille O’Neal. He was a domiant force and one of te top 5 greatest centers to be the game, and I’m sure as a person he’s a great guy.  I’ve only met him once and he had no problem’s signing autographs and what not.   But his constant child like antics have really gotten under my skin recently.     Shaq has recently been involved in a war of words with former teammate Steve Nash over his realty show.  Nash claims Shaq stole the idea, Shaq claims Nash’s idea was different.  I really don’t care, I’m not going to watch the show.   But this incident is just another in a long line of spurned former teammates.   His teammates in Miami felt he let them down, there is the well publicized problems with Kobe Bryant and let’s not forget how he Carlos-Boozered the Orlando Magic to join the Lakers. 

Shaq is like a 7-foot-one-inch 13-year-0ld; completely with tempertantrums and adolescent name calling.  Of course this is nothing new to fans of the LA Lakers; who for years had to put up with these antics.     Shaq believes at times that he is comedian and has said some off color remarks which would get most people into a heap of trouble in the media but he seems to be unphased by any criticism he does get and like an undisciplined child he keeps doing it.   I’m sure not many people remember Shaq’s comments about thinking about Yao Ming when he is taking a dump, or his rape about Kobe Bryant.    These are not actions of a 37  year old man, but the actions of someone in the tweens.   I would expect this behavior from Miley Cyrus, not from someone who is a 17 year NBA veteran.

I really think it is time for Shaq to retire.  It’s obvious he is much more interested in off the court ventures than he is in playing the game of basketball and I think he is going to really hurt the Cavs this year.  He won’t be the guy they all think he is, rather he is going to be a colossal disappointment and partial because of him the Cavs will ultimately fail in the post-season.   Mark it down, Shaq will play less than 50 games this year and will be the most inept that we have ever seen him.
