Only one month until the start of the NBA season. It’s been a long hot and somewhat boring summer. There were a few eventful moments but generally it was a fairly lame off-season. It was especially lame for me because of the cancellation of the Rocky Mountain Revue. The Revue has been a staple of my summers every year since the mid 1990s, and it’s been a good holdover for me until the pre-season.
I was also expecting a lot of movement this year, but with the exception of the draft there wasn’t a lot going on. The Bucks made a lot of small trades, but none of them are Earthshattering.
August is traditionally the most boring month of the NBA season. Team executives go on vacations and transactions stagnate. Things will pick up in early to mid-September when there will be a free agent frenzy before training camp.
October 1st is the first preseason game.
